DETROIT – Steven S. Chang, M.D., director of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute Head and Neck Cancer program, medical chair of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute's Quality and Finance and Patient Reported Outcomes committees at Henry Ford Health System, has been elected to the Executive Committee of the American Radium Society (ARS).
Dr. Chang has served on the organization’s Appropriate Use Criteria Head and Neck Committee for the past three years. The committee produces guidelines for difficult to manage clinical scenarios in cancer care.
“It has been a privilege to serve an organization that shares my passion for the team based multidisciplinary approach to treatment of cancer and I’m deeply honored to be elected by my peers to the Executive Committee and remain passionately committed to the support of the Society’s mission,” says Dr. Chang whose year-long appointment will be to serve on the executive council as the surgical oncology representative.

Founded in 1916, the American Radium Society is the oldest organization whose mission is to promote the multi-disciplinary and collegial study of all aspects of cancer.
