GE Healthcare announced today that it's acquiring Novia Strategies to expand its clinical consulting business in the U.S.

"[We] look forward to leveraging the broader portfolio and deep analytical and activation capabilities unique to GE to enable breakthrough, sustainable outcomes for more health care organizations," Nancy Lakier, CEO of Novia Strategies, said in a statement.

The company was founded 22 years ago and is led by clinicians with first-hand experience in hospital operations. Their clinical and operation expertise is in areas like care management, productivity management, compensation and benefits, pharmacy and non-labor cost reduction.

Lakier added that over the past two decades, they have helped hospitals save hundreds of millions of dollars.

GE envisions that Novia Strategies' capabilities will help accelerate the transformation of large-scale health systems, in particular. That would involve implementing command centers and redesigning care across the continuum.

“Our two organizations are culturally aligned and share a passion for solving client challenges,” said Geoff Martin, COO of GE Healthcare Camden Group. “We both begin with the challenge, work side-by-side with clients to identify, shape, and activate solutions, and focus on measurable outcomes and return on investment.”

The terms of the transaction and expected closing date have not been disclosed.
