BIS monitoring provides direct information about the effects of anesthetics and sedatives on the brain. The technology works by placing a BIS sensor on a patient's forehead to obtain information from electrical brain activity, or EEG. The BIS monitor then translates this information into a single number from 100 (indicating an awake patient) to zero (indicating the absence of brain electrical activity) that objectively represents each patient's level of consciousness. BIS monitoring thereby enables clinicians to minimize the risk of under- and over- dosing of anesthetics and sedatives. Other vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, do not correlate with depth of consciousness and are unreliable measures of adequate anesthesia and sedation.
Monitor: Rev. 210, P/N: 185-0070 S/N: C06722
Includes DSC-XP ref. 1850124
The monitor boots up and successfully completes its self-tests. There are no cracks or external damage on either component and the display is bright. This is a switchable device and can be powered by 100 - 240 VAC. When the DSC-XP is plugged in, it is not acknowledged by the monitor. This may be because of a plug fault or simply the absence of sensors. It is priced accordingly.
We have Philips M1034-60021 patient modules for this monitor available at DOTmed listing 1970350
