Western Maryland Regional Medical Center expands Digisonics solution for radiology reporting

HOUSTON (August 16, 2019) – Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland, Md, has expanded their Digisonics system to include structured reporting for all ultrasound exams.

Digisonics will automate the reporting workflow for improved consistency for OB/GYN, Vascular and General ultrasound reports. The system will seamlessly interface with their incumbent imaging modalities, PACS and EMR. The facility will realize improved turnaround times by eliminating redundant data entry workflows and improve overall quality measures.

Bi-directional integration with the facility’s Merge PACS will launch the Digisonics reporting software directly from the PACS workstation, matched to the corresponding patient study, as well as send the finalized report as DICOM for store in the PACS with study images.

Integration with Powerscribe360 will auto-import the dictated text directly into the Digisonics multi-media report, streamlining the reporting process while not disrupting the radiologists’ current workflow. Upon signoff in Digisonics, the final result is transferred to the facility’s Meditech EMR, closing the loop.

As a result of implementing the Digisonics solution for their radiology reporting, Western Maryland Regional Medical Center will enjoy an enhanced workflow, benefiting from improved interoperability, fewer reporting errors and better overall quality of patient care.
