Strategic Radiology has entered into a Preferred Vendor agreement over the sale of digital radiography and ultrasound technology, software and services offered by Neurologica.

The agreement provides practices that are part of the 28-member coalition access to technology and software produced by the Samsung Electronics division at discounted prices to utilize in their outpatient imaging centers.

“We are always on the lookout for opportunities to partner with leading suppliers like Samsung / Neurologica to bring high technology at a low cost,” Randal Roat, chief operating officer for Strategic Radiology, told HCB News. “This allows our members to reduce operating costs, and improve quality and service to patients.”

The agreement’s preferred pricing extends to medical imaging technology, including a range of ultrasound and digital radiography productions. It also includes peripherals, services, and software, such as dose reduction software used in general imaging, women’s imaging, pediatrics, and point-of-care areas.

Vendor partnerships of Strategic Radiology cover a wide range of medical imaging software, technology and services that range from medical professional liability insurance to coding software and services. They also include clinical decision support and post-processing software.

Roat says the agreement with Neurologica will especially be helpful to providers in need of ultrasound technology.

“Ultrasound is widely used in body and breast imaging throughout our membership,” he said. “The Neurologica/Samsung Health relationship is the first multi-modality vendor opportunity that we have negotiated for our members. We are excited about this relationship and we hope there will be more. All of our practices are in a position to acquire or recommend the purchase of DR, either for themselves or for their hospital partners.”

Strategic Radiology represents more than 1,100 radiologists from 28 independent, private practices.
