Sarasota, FL—Spectrum Dynamics is proud to announce that it received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance for its VERITON-CT 64™ SPECT/CT system. This digital, wide-bore scanner is designed to improve physicians’ diagnostic confidence offeringmore image detail than ever before, enabled by its unique 360-degree multi-detector geometry. Its design yieldsthree times the volumetric sensitivity and twice the throughput of conventional dual headanalog SPECT cameras, making digital tomographic imaging a routine procedure in nuclear medicine departments. When used in conjunction with its diagnostic CT, scalable to 128 slice resolution and coverage, VERITON-CT 64 enables new approaches in disease management, clinical care and medical research.

“This is a great opportunity to bring the most advanced SPECT/CT scanner, deliveringunparalleled advances in image quality, diagnostic confidence and patient throughput to the largest diagnostic imaging market in the world" said Michael Joos, President and CEO, Spectrum Dynamics. “The insight for this amazing clinical system originated with our Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Yoel Zilberstien, and our broad team of talented engineers has worked diligently to make today a reality.”

The radical new ring designof CZT detectors offers more efficient data capture and potentially lower injected activity and radiation dose to the patient.Replacement of older equipment and consolidation of multiple assets into a single digital system is now possible. “Ultimately the entire health network can benefit from the VERITON-CT with significant clinical, operational and financial impact” said Joos. “This is category-redefining technology in the field of nuclear medicine and will set the standard for years to come.”
