Cleveland, Ohio (November 16, 2016) - Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc. (HMSA) recently completed numerous installations of their Echelon Oval 1.5T MRI with its new Evolution 5 Software capabilities at community hospitals around the US.

Hitachi’s Echelon Oval is the widest available 1.5T MR system making it a great choice as a stand-alone MR system for all sizes of community hospitals. The 74cm wide bore ensures a great majority of patients can be comfortably and efficiently accommodated.

St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia recently installed Echelon Oval in their radiology department and could not be more pleased. Cheryl Rawlings the Imaging Department Manager stated, “it’s the size of the bore—at 74 cm in width, the widest MRI system available— and the uncompromised quality of the images that have gone furthest in making Candler’s MRI capabilities the talk of the town.”

“We are quite pleased with the continued success of the Echelon Oval with community hospitals”, states Sheldon Schaffer Vice President and General Manager for MR and CT for Hitachi Medical Systems America. “The patient friendly design and superb image quality makes the Echelon Oval an ideal solution for both inpatient and outpatient settings.”

Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire is another institution that has recently installed the Echelon Oval in their hospital outpatient imaging center and are in the process of installing the Hitachi Oasis High-Field Open MRI in another facility. Concord Hospital considered every option available before deciding on Hitachi. Dr. Mark Hadley, the Medical Director for Concord Hospital led the thorough selection process and stated, “Concord Imaging Center (Concord Hospital) is committed to providing patients with outstanding innovative care. This means that we update and expand our imaging technology in order to stay on the leading edge. After careful evaluation, including input from customers, we selected MRI’s made by Hitachi. We are particularly pleased to have their High-Field Open and Oval Bore MRI’s, which provide our patients with enhanced comfort and the highest quality of imaging available.”
