Torrance, CA — July 29, 2016 - Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, a subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation, is proud to announce the release of the MobileDaRt Evolution MX7.

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA has released its newest version of the MobileDaRt Evolution series called the MX7. A leading edge mobile DR system, the MX7 offers extensive functionality, including additional software functions, a built-in large image display monitor and an extremely operator-friendly design, providing an increased level of support for medical personnel involved in mobile imaging work.

Digital mobile X-ray systems equipped with Flat Panel Detectors (FPD) are used for examining patients during hospital rounds and for medical applications requiring a high level of urgency, such as emergency rooms and neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). To date, Shimadzu has sold more than 2700 digital mobile X-ray systems worldwide, where they have earned a strong reputation. In 2015, KLAS Research, granted the Best-in-KLAS award for the X-Ray Segment category, which includes digital mobile X-ray systems to Shimadzu Medical Systems.

The MX7 series features “Smart seCURE”, an integrated power management function that allows users to select the best system setup for their clinical needs from a wide variety of available choices. Based on superior communication between the main unit and the DR system, the Smart seCURE power management function, utilizes the battery more effectively by minimizing unnecessary consumption of power. The DR system starts up in about one minute after initialization

Features

1. Convenient Design Satisfies Operator Needs

The MX7 mobile features a large 17-inch monitor increasing resolution while providing higher visibility and touch panel operability. Additional new features, improve the convenience of routine usage such as storage spaces for smaller items, and grooves in the console sidewalls for conveniently installing sterile bags over the FPD. The new MX7 still features the "all-free" button for freely positioning the unit with a single button, the ability to display images two seconds after exposure and the ultra-quiet motor drive.

2. Smart seCURE (A Variety of new Functionality resulting from smarter integration between the main radiographic and imaging processing units)

The power management system automatically switches OFF the image display monitor during travel or after a given period with no operator inputs. This not only reduces power consumption and avoids depleting the battery, but also helps improve security by preventing patient information from being leaked. System critical information continues to be shown on the image display monitor (without patient information), such as the time for battery charging and status of wireless LAN signals within the hospital, so that hospital rounds can be accomplished more efficiently.

3. A Lighter and More Water Resistant New FPD Unit

The FPD unit can be selected from an assortment of available sizes and sensitivity levels, based on the intended application. In particular, the 2.5 kg 14×17-inch model FPD, offering high general applicability, is lighter than any other FPDs of comparable size in the industry. Conforming to the International Electrotechnical Commission IPX6 rating, this new FPD provides an even higher level of water resistance.
