HCB News: What’s the best way for a healthcare organization to get started on this path?
CB: There are three things I would recommend every healthcare organization keep in mind when it comes to growth strategy.
One, just being different does nothing for you. Being different
in ways important to patients and physicians is the way to produce growth. Two, we live in a world of choice—win patient choice and your healthcare organization will grow. Let patients and physicians help you move in the right growth direction. Three, nothing is static, and that includes how patients decide where to seek care and how physicians decide which hospitals best meet their patients’ needs. Strategy is an iterative, ever-evolving activity.
