The global market for fluoroscopy and C-arms is growing and the Asia-Pacific region is responsible for driving much of that growth.

According to a new report from BCC Research, the total market worldwide for fluoroscopy and C-arms is expected to grow to $2 billion by 2018 at a compounded annual growth rate of 3.2 percent over five years. The Asia-Pacific region, the fastest growing segment, is expected to register a steady compounded annual growth rate of 3.8 percent.

"On a global scale, developing markets such as Asia-Pacific represent regions of great potential in terms of sales and uptake of C-arms," said BCC Research healthcare analyst Simone Peters. "Mature markets such as the U.S. and Europe, which accounted for almost 65 percent of market share in terms of product sales and revenue in 2013, will continue to contribute to growth through replacement sales in the future."
According to the report, the rise of minimally invasive surgery is driving most of the growth for the C-arm market.
