DOTmed: Please outline the scope of this project.
As reported on GrandRapidsMN.com., the new imaging center at Bigfork Valley in Bigfork, Minnesota, was officially opened June 8 with a ribbon cutting to celebrate a new state-of-the-art Selenia Dimension digital mammography machine and new spaces that include rooms for ultrasound, DEXA scan, a reading room and consult room for the radiologist, and a new waiting area.
The spaces will also be used for nuclear medicine and echocardiography when on-site.
Radiologist Dr. Paul Olson explained that Bigfork Valley was in the forefront of the region, offering services which were the best in technology today. Meredith Morneau, chair of the Bigfork Valley Community Foundation, thanked The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust for its generous grant which made the realization of digital mammography for area women possible. Carol Mills, vice chair of the Bigfork Valley board of directors, thanked the many people who had made the new imaging center possible, including individual donors like Dr. Olson, campaigns organized by the Bigfork Valley Community Foundation, and those with the vision to transform a former kitchen into an efficient and beautiful space for the Imaging Department.
