DOTmed: Please outline the scope of this project.
University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, in partnership with Centerre Healthcare Corporation, today announced plans to build a freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Madison.

Pending purchase of the site and required city approvals, the new hospital will be built across the street from UW Health at The American Center, the planned new campus on Madison’s far east side.

The new Madison Rehabilitation Hospital will provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, with specialized programming for patients who have experienced stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other major conditions. The state-of-the-art 50-bed facility will provide the physical and clinical capacity to strengthen UW Hospital’s nationally recognized programs.

DOTmed: How will this project help the community you serve?
“We are excited to be partnering with this nationally recognized academic system,” said Pat Foster, CEO of Centerre Healthcare. “We intend to complement their current healthcare services and provide superior rehabilitation care to the Madison community.”
