Shacey Petrovic
Clinical Innovations, which provides medical devices for women's health, announced the appointment of Shacey Petrovic as the new president and CEO. DOTmed News spoke to Petrovic about her new job.

DMN: What's your background?

SP: I have spent more than 15 years in the medical device industry, with a primary focus in women's health care. Most of my career has been focused on sales and marketing. I have a passion for new product development and commercialization of new technologies and markets.

DMN: How long have you been working in the industry?

SP: I have been this industry for 16 years.

DMN: What are your goals as president and CEO of Clinical Innovations?

SP: Clinical Innovations has built a strong reputation on their market-leading Labor & Delivery product portfolio and a dedication to excellence in medical education and support for our customers. I want to build on this history of success by growing our presence and product offering within Labor & Delivery through innovative product development and other complimentary strategies.

DMN: What excites you most about the industry these days?

SP: ACOG's recent focus on education and advocacy for vaginal delivery (versus c-section) is a win for patients -- it means shorter hospital stays, lower infection rates and quicker recoveries for new moms. There have also been some exciting developments in maternal fetal diagnostics, which could improve patient management and provide less-invasive means for gathering information about patients' health and risk factors for their deliveries.
