Readers who follow the contrast and injector market closely may already know that in early 2012, Bayer Health- Care integrated Medrad and Bayer HealthCare pharmaceuticals’ contrast media unit, to form Bayer Radiology & Interventional. As of January this year, Medrad products are now being marketed under the Bayer banner. The firm had a big informatics announcement this year that also fell in line with current dose-sensitive trends: after acquiring software developer Radimetrics in late 2012, the company is now the first in the industry to add radiation and contrast dose tracking to its existing Certegra dose management software portfolio.
“Radiation tracking extends the value our Certegra dosemanagement platform offers health care professionals in managing compliance and improving patient care,” said Anthony Cinalli, vice president of the informatics business at Bayer, in a company press release.
