Claymount North America Corp., a manufacturer of high voltage X-ray equipment components, announced it has acquired Advanced Instrument Development Inc., a maker of products for the X-ray industry.

According to an official statement, the Illinois-based Advanced Instrument Development has transferred 100 percent of its shares as of Dec. 31, 2012 to Claymount North America Corp, which is a member of the Netherlands-based Claymount Technologies Group.

"I am delighted about the new opportunities this acquisition will bring for our customers. The perfect strategic fit, the Technology Excellence combined with the benefits of our global marketing and operations platform will boost our "one stop source" approach. We are now able to supply the whole spectrum of AEC technology. I am sure that merging the two operations will add value to our customer products in technology and combined product capabilities," said Jeffrey R. Tierie, CEO of the Claymount Technologies Group BV, in the statement.

No financial details of the deal have been disclosed. The companies plan to merge their local operations into Advanced Instrument Development's facility in Downers Grove, Ill. by May 2013 at the latest, according to the statement.
