BC Technical Inc., a large third-party dealer and servicer of molecular imaging equipment and parts, said Thursday it bought fellow molecular imaging service company Consus Medical Imaging in order to expand its foothold in the southeastern United States. Terms of the purchase, concluded in March, weren't disclosed.

The deal comes less than a month after West Jordan, Utah-based BC Technical announced that earlier in the year it acquired RA Services Inc., a molecular imaging service company headquartered in Detroit, in order to bolster its Midwestern presence.

In a statement, Mark Alvarez, president and CEO of BC Technical, said the acquisition of Consus, based in Jacksonville, Fla., will help increase his company's "strategic focus" on Florida's multi-hospital systems and integrated health networks.

BC Technical, founded in 1995, was acquired by Atlanta private equity firm MSouth Equity Partners in 2009.
