By now, you may have heard that an industry icon, Dan Wheeler passed away after an illness.

Dan was a wonderful guy and helpful whenever he could be.

Ed Sloan and I were remembering him on a phone call and I thought we would share some of our thoughts about Dan here.

Ed describes Dan as a true entrepreneur, someone who thought out of the box and where others saw problems, he saw solutions.

I remember how proud Dan was of his son, Andy. I remember how Dan lit up and his chest expanded when he shared with me that Andy was taking a leadership role at Transtate.

Ed reminded me that Dan was always up-beat, never critical and always ready with a helping hand.

There's one thing that Ed and I agreed on, and that is we wish there were more people in our business of the caliber and integrity of Dan Wheeler, and although he will be missed, he will not be forgotten.
