Additional FDA 510(k) Clearance for NvisionVLE Imaging System
NinePoint Medical, Inc., announced that it has received an additional 510(k) clearance for its NvisionVLE Imaging System, expanding the system’s indication to include imaging of esophageal tissue microstructure. The system offers the only technology that can generate a volumetric image of the target organ in real-time that can be viewed simultaneously in cross section and longitudinally. It also performs a cross sectional scan through a 6cm length, 3mm deep, enabling visualization of multiple tissue layers. It is also the first volumetric optical coherence tomography (OCT) device cleared by the FDA for endoscopic imaging that uses a circumferential scanning technique and an automatic pullback to generate cross sectional and longitudinal images simultaneously in real-time.

E-Cube 7 Ultrasound System
Alpinion Medical Systems recently introduced the E-Cube 7 ultrasound system for use in guidance during regional anesthesia and pain medicine procedures.

Key system features include a small lightweight footprint with a 19” monitor. It also offers an easy-to-use control panel with auto-optimization tools, excellent image quality, a scratch resistant control panel and pinless transducer connectors.

Ultrasound Transducer Field Analysis and Acoustic Pressure-Mapping System
Acertara Acoustic Laboratories, the world’s only independent ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited medical ultrasound acoustic measurement and testing laboratory, has released the world’s first commercially available ultrasound acoustic dose-analysis and field mapping system. Aureon is intended for use in the hospital Biomedical and Medical Physics environment as well as in ultrasound research labs, regulatory agency labs, and for ultrasound system Original Equipment Manufacturers. Through directly capturing and measuring the acoustic energy present at the aperture of the ultrasound probe under test, Aureon can detect variations in emitted acoustic power down to a single element even in a large multi-element array.

World's Only Fully Rotatable HD Bronchoscopes
Olympus announced the commercial availability of its 510(k) cleared BF-190 bronchoscopes.

The new BF-190 bronchoscopes a unique Rotary Function and wider tip angulation. The Rotary Function is estimated to reduce hand torque by up to 82%.
The BF-190 bronchoscopes are powered by Olympus' new EVIS EXERA III Universal Platform, an HDTV Imaging system.

The EVIS EXERA III system works seamlessly with a wide range of endoscopes across specialties to provide easier data management and cost efficiencies. The system is compatible with all Olympus endoscopes used in bronchoscopy, endo-bronchial ultrasound (EBUS), gastroenterology, laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgery, urology, anesthesiology and ENT.

Endocam Logic HD
Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corp. introduces the Endocam Logic HD, equipped with three interchangeable, high-definition camera heads that plug in to a single control unit.

Each of camera head produces full 1080p high-definition imagery. The Pendual camera head rotates between a 90-degree angle (for resection procedures) and an axial, or straight, orientation (for cystoscopy).

The Endocam Logic HD captures and stores images in a built-in archive, with options to print or export directly to a USB stick in jpg, tiff or PDF format. A touch screen on the camera control unit streamlines access to the main menu functions.

Thanks to a new coupler design, each camera head snaps on and off with a flick of the wrist. Heads and couplers are steam-autoclavable.
